Synopsis: Paglipad ng Anghel explores the story of Gabby (Lucero), a young accountant in a television network, who leads an uneventful, if not boring, life. He wakes up to a regular day, does his routine, until on his way to work he sees an old beggar asking for help. He helps the old, sickly lady and brings her to a hospice where the nuns take care of the old and dying. After this act of charity, he starts noticing feathers growing on his back. As the feathers grow into full wings and complicate his life, he starts to face the consequences of being an “angel”.
Running time: 92 mins.
Interview with the Director:
2.0 Manuel Pangaruy (IndioCine)
“Maraming eksena sa opisina na halatang orchestrated. Pilit din ang humor. Hindi rin nakatulong ang biglaang pagsulpot ni Joel Torre bilang isa pang anghel. At lalong ‘wag na ‘wag nang pag-interesang titigan ang CGI rito dahil baka tubuan ka rin ng pakpak (sige ka). (Read full review)
2.0 Jonnah D. (Sisyphean Dreams)
“The scenes throughout the film were inconsistent at best. Michelle’s (Stephanie Henares) character as the other angel and the budding crush of Gabby’s character wasn’t clearly plotted out.” (Read full review)
1.0 Lyndon Maburaot (Cinephiles)
“Two words: bad film. OK, more words: lost direction, corny one-liners, ho-hum screenplay.”
1.0 Carl Papa (Whatever, Carl)
“Painful. Makes for a good Wansapanataym episode. Fortunately, Sid Lucero was good enough. I wish I could say the same about the rest of the movie.”
